The rotunda

From yesterday to today...

“La Rotonde... from yesterday to today” is the link between its history and its present... to also imagine its future. A future that it is building through its renovated theater room. Now capable of hosting shows, concerts... by offering the technical and acoustic qualities required by the best artists, it positions itself as the Cultural Center of Southern Lorraine.

In 1913, Armand Lederlin, director of the Laundry Teinturerie Thaonnaise (a factory which then employed several thousand people) and a man of advanced paternalism, decided to build a building which would house the social center of the BTT. This included, at the time, a balneum (baths, showers), the executives' circle, a dining room, sports facilities (shooting range, gymnasium, etc.), a large reception room called the "room round" and, thinking of the workers' leisure time, a theater of vast dimensions, a more modest replica of the famous Chatelet. The entire building, seen from a plane, has the shape of the Cross of Lorraine.

Glory, then crisis

The Rotunda, as it is today, was only completed in 1923 by the architect Hébrard who, resuming the work that the First World War had interrupted, enhanced the building with the dome which covers the round room. After 40 years of splendor, the textile crisis of the 1960s and the lack of maintenance threatened the building, requiring, in 1975, intervention and its management by the town of Thaon, which then initiated a rehabilitation program. Listed in the inventory of historic monuments in 1986, the Rotonde has regained all its splendor and, going beyond the municipal framework, is now open to businesses and the world of culture.

WAM PARK

The WAM PARK water leisure park concept is a new concept of water leisure base. The objective is to create an outdoor base with multiple activities.

Built around two water ski lifts, this leisure center includes numerous activities ( wakeboarding and water skiing on the ski lifts, inflatable games, stand up paddle ) but also a snack/restaurant point. In short, a leisure base, whether you are a fan of board sports or a deckchair fan. Entrance to the leisure center is free, dogs are allowed but kept on a leash. On the heights, a picnic area is accessible free of charge, you will just be asked not to collect all of your waste with you so as not to leave anything at the leisure center.

Beautiful walks in the Vosges await you and our Au clair de lune cottage will help you rest and relax with its private spa and sauna.
